A-Level Joy for BWH Students

Thursday 17 August 2017

Students from Blessed William Howard were celebrating their A-Level results this morning.  Among the many top performers were:

Maddi Getley [A*A*A] in biology, chemistry and mathematics; going to University of Leeds to read Dental Surgery

Emma Underwood [A*A*A] in chemistry, mathematics and biology; going to Loughborough University to read Mathematics and Sport Science

Phoebe Preston [A*A*B] in chemistry, mathematics and geography; going to the University of Liverpool to read Medicinal Chemistry

Twins, Megan and Olivia Millen achieved a haul of 2A*, 4A and 3Bs between them.

Mr Phil Smith, Headteacher, said, “We have seen some great results this year.  The average grade per A-level entered has improved - on average students achieved a B-, up a whole grade from last year.

“I am pleased to say that at time of press, the vast majority of our students wishing to progress to the next tier of education has been successful in gaining a place on a course of their choice.  This is the real success for our students.  Well done to the students, their parents and the teaching staff.”
